The Town is ROLLING!

The Athletics are on an 11 game winning streak. Now sitting tied for division lead with Seattle Mariners, Oakland has found their groove. The start of season looked like last year’s AL West champs where a fluke. Going 0-6 at home – made some question if this team would be true competitors in 2021. They have since won series against Houston (2 games), Arizona (2), Detroit (4) and Minnesota (3).

By no means has this team been dominate. They currently hold a -2 run differential and team Batting Average of .222. However, they get it done. A little bit of grinding mixed with a little bit of star power and you have yourself an 11 game winning streak. The fun loving hard nose group has coined the phrase ‘Ride the Wave’ and players can be seen expressing that emotion while on the bases!

They head into the weekend with a three game set against the 8-10 Baltimore Orioles and then followed by a four game set against the defending American League Champions Tampa Bay Rays. Funny enough, back in 2002, the Athletics had a winning streak – stringing together 20 wins in a row. Could this team top that? It will certainly be a tough ten games to go.
